What is IPv6
As an introduction to IPv6, here you can find some documents. Although they are
not recent, they could be a good starting point to learn about IPv6.
- The IPv6 protocol,
a description of the new protocol, extracted from the works of Tesi di Laurea
(degree thesis) developed at CSELT. There are also the links
to the master documents for who wants to know more.
- IPv6 transition mechanisms,
a description of the transition mechanisms developed by IETF to allow communications
among hosts and networks that use incompatible protocols. In particular, the IPv6
Tunnel Broker mechanism is presented.
- The 6Bone network,
a description of the worldwide experimental IPv6 network overlapped to the Internet,
that until mid-2006 hosted the main "practicing" activities on the new
protocol.
